A collection of pictures taken over a three month period while I got a Koi Dragon Tattoo on my shoulder. The work is done by Joanne at Blue Tongue Designs in Hong Kong.

@noshishifty22101501 as a tattooist, i know that being great at drawing definitely helps, especially if you want to get into doing custom work, but its not necessary… i’d say one of the most important parts would be being able to trace outlines very well and with a steady hand

this is very poor work its ugly and done with a stencil as well very much a budge job
Nice koi man, I just got my outline done yesterday and it took 4 hours, I got to say the meaning behind the tattoo tho is what makes me wanna get it finished even more. How long did the shading take for your tattoo? either way nice art man!

i have both sleeves done japanese kois masks dragons demons heads etc.even a unique japanese warrior wrapped up in a huge octopus and hes stabbing away at it with a japanese dagger..looks well cool

u seem to have a problem w/ koi don’t cha.lol ppl have em to have while others get them because of their meaning like me. The koi is a form of overcoming obstacles in life and thats why ppl have them as a permenant form of inspiration.
why? they are cliche and over-used. way to be original.

The dudes I know that have tats actually DO shave them… Always an option, I guess. I’m a pretty hairy motherfucker, so I’ll probly end up trimming, lol.
Man, I wish i wasn’t so hairy. Tattoos look so much better on hairless people. I could just shave my entire body. Yeah…. no.

Nice ink mate, how much did that cost then,how many session? Did they use the gun or the bamboo? Nice 1! I got my half sleeve somplete just a few hours ago, it took me 3 1hour and a half session. and its cost me about £210 so far, coz i might get more done to it eventually.
